Amanda and Stephen
Amanda and Stephen first met in 5th grade band. They were best friends throughout high school, went their separate ways for college until life brought them back together.
The Proposal
Amanda and Stephen had a trip planned to the upper peninsula. They were going to visit Tahquamenon Falls for a fall color tour. While they were at the Upper Falls Stephen was about to propose but got too nervous because there were so many people around. So, he suggested they take a path that led to a scenic view of the falls downriver. The couple were taking selfies together when Stephen asked a stranger to take their picture. As he returned to Amanda to pose for the picture he knelt to one knee and asked her to marry him.
The Day & Design
The couple describes their wedding style as simple, modern, and casual. They loved the idea of an outdoor wedding and felt that early fall would be the perfect time of year. One unique detail of their special day was Amanda wearing sparkling Keds shoes for the entire wedding. They also wrote each other notes and asked their flowergirl to exchange them before the wedding.
The Couple’s Advice
“Take a few minutes to enjoy each other and the union you have created. As difficult as it is, don’t sweat the small stuff. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the love you have for one another and the support you have from your family and friends. Also, if your budget allows, a photo booth is so much fun! The guests will love it and you’ll get a scrapbook full of photo strips after the wedding.”
