Jessica & Nate

Jessica and Nate met at work. They both work for Spectrum Health and worked in the same unit – surgery! Jessica knew Nate was the one when her niece was very sick and in the hospital for over 200 days. During that time Jessica was stressed and scared. Jessica said: she remembers thinking if Nate wanted to be with her during this time in her life, nothing could shake their relationship. They are most looking forward to living and being together every single day!

The Proposal

Jessica and Nate were camping in Leelanau, Michigan with his family. They were going to Fishtown and Nate told her to look good. Jessica thought he wanted to take pictures by a painting, but she didn’t feel like changing. They were by the anchor at Fishtown and Nate asked if Jessica would be his anchor for life!

The Day & Design

Jessica’s favorite moment of the whole day was the couple’s private last dance. Before the sparkler send off, they had all the guests go outside and Nate and her savored one last dance. The DJ took pictures for them, because he and the videographer were the only ones in the building.

The Couple’s Advice

Jessica and Nate’s advice is to just go with it. It’s not worth the stress to try to figure out what the governor is going to do or if the numbers will be limited. Just roll with the punches. “During the pandemic, I just kept saying that I wanted to sign the marriage license – that’s it,” said Jessica. “It helped ease the stress of it knowing that no matter what, we would still be married.”
