Laurel and Kevin
Laurel and Kevin met on a blind date that was set up by their respective married co-workers. This was the first blind date either of them had been on and they’re so happy it ended the way it did!
The Proposal
Kevin drove Laurel to her family’s cottage on Lake Michigan on the back of his motorcycle. At the cottage they walked the beach together until he pulled her close and asked her to marry him. After the proposal they came back to the house where Laurel’s parents and grandparents were waiting to share a champagne toast with the couple.
The Day & Design
Laurel and Kevin describe their wedding style as a classic and elegant summer garden wedding. Their design was timeless, but still personal and unique to them as a couple. They created the table numbers and place card holders out of their favorite redbud tree that had fallen down in their back yard earlier in the summer. Their beloved Scrabble board also was converted into their guest book and they wrote love letters to each other and locked them in a box with a good bottle of wine. They plan to open the box on their 5-year anniversary.
The Couple’s Advice
“Have a list of poses/shots you want your photographer to capture on the day of the wedding. We had some in mind but forgot them all on our wedding day. And truly, just focus on the person you are marrying as they are who you are there for and nobody else.”
