Melissa & Andrew
Melissa and Andrew most likely crossed paths before they knew each other, but the first time they intentionally met was when Andrew asked Melissa out on a date for her birthday. Melissa knew Andrew was someone special and that she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. From the very beginning their relationship felt easy.
Melissa and Andrew are looking forward to many years of fun and adventure, along with building a family together.
The Proposal
Andrew planned a weekend on Mackinaw Island with their closest friends and family. They took the ferry to the island where they visited Arch Rock, rode bikes around the island, and shopped in town. Andrew mentioned they should go by the water to get a photo. As they were walking towards the water, Melissa stubbed her toe, which gave Andrew enough time to quickly grab the ring from his backpack. Andrew got down on one knee and asked to marry Melissa and she said yes!
The Day & Design
Andrew and Melissa would describe their wedding style as simple, but elegant. A unique part of their wedding was that they had a mariachi join in on their celebration.
The Couple’s Advice
The couple’s biggest piece of advice is to not sweat the small stuff. It’s important to enjoy the process of planning a wedding instead of letting it stress you out. On her wedding day, Melissa’s motto was “whatever happens, happens” and she enjoyed every second of the day, even when things didn’t go exactly the way she had envisioned.
